Jos van Aalderen

After my studies in Public Administration at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, I got into software testing more or less by accident. I had always been interested in software and computers and during my studies I volunteered at my old high school to help out with computer classes. My enthusiasm for software and computers, especially for software testing, is still very strong, which is only natural with more than 20 years of experience.

My greatest pleasure comes from working with the team (with developers, testers, analysts and/or UX designers) to deliver high-quality software (of course as bug-free as possible) in order to have a satisfied customer.

My strength lies in creating and maintaining a good team spirit, in which everyone works well together and helps each other. I have participated in testing in many different roles (tester, test coordinator, test manager) and helped delivering many applications. In my spare time I like to be with my family, but I also enjoy sports (running, cycling and gym) and coaching/training my son’s soccer team.

As a test consultant, you must be able to think and act like the user of an application. And you must also be able to convey that to your team. Because only that way can you ensure that the customer is satisfied with the delivered application.

At Respellion, I hope to apply my testing knowledge and expertise to our mission: To strive for a society where open source technology is being used in a sustainable way for digital solutions.
