Developer
Throughout my life I have always enjoyed playing around with computers and technology. When I was around 6 years old, it all started with RollerCoaster Tycoon on Windows Vista. As I got older, I started experimenting with creating my own modifications to the game, so that I could recreate my favourite coasters and theme parks with more accuracy. Eventually I figured out I really liked working with computers and started learning how to program. Now, after a couple of years and a bachelor’s degree in Innovative Development, I work as a consultant and full-stack software developer in the public sector, with a preference for backend development using C#.
Consultancy is a field where human interaction is central. That’s why collaboration is the biggest driving factor, and the key to success. I am fully convinced that we can all learn something new from each other, no matter our experience. For that reason, creating a work environment where everyone feels safe asking questions is essential.
I strive to deliver the highest possible quality software that solves the problem as best as possible. As a consultant it’s my responsibility to ensure this happens successfully. During my previous experience, I worked on complex systems and did back-end development using .NET. During my bachelor’s degree I learnt a lot about front-end development and design. For this reason, I would describe myself as a full-stack developer. Besides development I also take great interest in other areas such as CI/CD, software architecture and design, as well as UX design. Alongside this, I also like experimenting with new technologies, especially open-source.
Outside of work I spend a lot of time on music. I am both DJ and producer of electronic music. I’ve been creating music on my computer since I was a kid and still love doing this. Because of this, I have had the pleasure of playing on the big stage at the Liberation Festival of The Hague, among other events, which was an amazing experience. I mostly love drum and bass and dubstep, but also like venturing into other genres. Because of my interest in music, I travel all over the country and the world to visit the coolest festivals and concerts.
