<p>My passion for IT began at a young age with the Commodore 64. Although initially limited to computer games, it sparked my curiosity about technology, from analog modems and the Tulip AT 386 PC, to the internet and handheld devices.</p>
<p>After completing my studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, with a specialization in information management, I began my career in IT consultancy. In 2012, I joined QDelft, which was later acquired by Netcompany in 2019. Through establishing contracts, hiring the right employees, and implementing large IT projects, we built a successful company founded on long-term relationships with our clients.</p>
<p>Aside from work and family, sports are my greatest passion. Over the years, I&#8217;ve completed numerous half and full marathons, (ultra) trails, cycling tours, and triathlons. I have qualified for the 2024 Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, the birthplace of triathlon.</p>
<p>I see significant similarities between my approach to sports and work: goal oriented, collaborative with a skilled team, and a substantial amount of discipline and perseverance. The journey and relationships formed along the way are as crucial as achieving the goal.</p>

People officer | Agile coach

<p>At Respellion, I feel like a true responsible rebel. On one hand, I can employ my skills as an agile coach and scrum master, and on the other hand, I can contribute to building a modern organizational structure where trust and collaboration are prioritized.</p>
<p>As an agile coach, I work with both traditional and modern management techniques and competencies. I pay attention to the essence of various frameworks but without being dogmatic.</p>
<p>My strength lies in facilitating, guiding, and coaching individuals and teams. I believe that sincere attention to people provides a solid foundation of trust, that allows them to take responsibility and to grow.</p>
<p>I am a husband and father of two children who regularly find me running or cycling in the countryside. As the drummer of the band Eclectic Gems, I occasionally perform in music cafes or festivals to express my creativity.</p>
<p>As a citizen and professional, I value the concept of citizenship and the theory of the commons. We all have a responsibility towards each other and our society. Treating others as you would like to be treated yourself, is a golden rule that I hold dear.</p>

<p>As a software developer, I discovered my passion for technology at a young age, when I was fascinated by the ins and outs of computers while my peers were enjoying playing games. My curiosity and eagerness to learn drive me to continuously take on new challenges and further develop my skills. Whether I work independently or in a team, I value collaboration and effective communication to arrive at the best solutions. My analytical and creative approach helps me develop software that is both functional and well-suited to the needs of users and the goals of the company. I strongly believe in automation because it performs tasks faster and more accurately, which reduces errors and saves time. I therefore always strive to automate processes where possible. At Respellion, I feel at home because the organization has a flat hierarchy and where collaboration and trust are central, which fits well with my way of working.</p>
<p>In my spare time, I like to explore open source technologies and enjoy playing various team sports such as basketball and padel. On sunny days I enjoy riding my motorcycle, while I also regularly go to the gym. I also like to try new recipes and discover new places to eat.</p>

<p>As an architect, I make complex technical issues understandable and clear. I can communicate effectively with both experienced developers and stakeholders such as clients and users. This communication works both ways: on one hand, fostering understanding among technical professionals about the interests of stakeholders, and on the other hand, explaining to stakeholders what is technically feasible. Drawing from my experience with complex projects, I&#8217;ve gained a deep understanding of potential possibilities and related risks.</p>
<p>My goal for the coming years is to focus more on structurally improving the digital government, particularly for citizens, businesses, and the government itself. In my view, this begins with more effective systems, standards, and building blocks. I see significant potential in Linked Data (semantic web) in this regard. Although I am aware from my experience, that there is still much work to be done. Through Respellion, I hope to make a positive contribution to this endeavour.</p>

<p>With experience in various projects for both public and private clients, I share my belief in technological innovation and improving our society. Working at Respellion feels like coming home, given the shared history I have with my colleagues.</p>
<p>My expertise encompasses not only the technical aspects of software development but also extends to coaching and guiding my team members. I strongly believe in the crucial role of automation, with a focus on reducing human errors and optimizing the development workflow. With my experience, I lead and inspire my team, emphasizing collaboration and knowledge sharing.</p>
<p>In my spare time, I engage in open-source projects, collaborating with fellow developers to enhance software quality and give back to the community. Additionally, I enjoy reading to relax and explore new ideas.</p>

<p>I have a background in social science research, and after working as a researcher for several years, I specialized in developing computational models and Business Intelligence. I have always worked in small, agile organizations and have noticed that the flat organizational structure fosters a sense of equality and encourages easy collaboration among colleagues. This is also what we strive for at Respellion.</p>
<p>What attracts me to Respellion are the values of the group of people, whom I have gotten to know well over the past years. <p>As an IT entrepreneur, I served as the director of QDelft since 2007 and successfully guided the rapid growth of the company to over 100 employees. In 2019, we became acquainted with the successful Danish company Netcompany, ultimately leading to the sale of QDelft. Subsequently, I was responsible as Managing Director to oversee the further development and integration of the Dutch business unit.</p>
<p>After completing my Computer Science studies at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, I chose to remain in the area and happily settled down with my family in the Duinoord neighbourhood.</p>
<p>I have extensive experience in acquiring, executing, and overseeing complex and large-scale software development projects, primarily within the public sector. With the knowledge and experience gained, our goal at Respellion is to articulate a vision for software development from the perspective of the public sector, ensuring that its core values are fully represented. I am proficient in various programming languages and frameworks, with my expertise focused on .NET combined with React or Angular. Additionally, I have knowledge of Azure Cloud and thoroughly enjoy working with it.</p>
<p>My enthusiasm for technology, attention to detail, and knowledge of various disciplines lead to efficient solutions. Colleagues describe me as hands-on and results-oriented. I highly value the &#8220;camping mentality&#8221;: I strive every day to leave the projects I work on in a better state than I found them.</p>
<p>My expertise goes beyond technical implementations; my focus is on sustainable, innovative solutions that successfully complete projects while also adding value and encouraging future developments. I enjoy working with diverse team members, where I not only produce code but also coach and support others in their professional growth. <p>I live with my girlfriend in Rotterdam. In my free time, I enjoy tending to my aquarium, watching history documentaries, or meeting up with friends or family. Although I’m not a master chef, I have a great passion for barbecue.</p>
